Hiking at Harriman

This was my first hike with a MeetUp group, The NJ Biking & Hiking Group, on March 12. We went to Harriman State Park for a six-mile hike, which took us about four hours, including lunch break. Nothing better than eating lunch sitting on a flat rock high up in a mountain!

Mid-March, no leaves or buds yet! That means no mosquitoes or ticks either. Beautiful but a bit cool.

Scrambling up rocks. It looks difficult, but it's not so bad when you take it one step at a time.

Jamie, our youngest hiker.

Totally worth it! The view is magnificent from here.

Little stream = beautiful sounds

Our guide, Rodney, explaining to Susan how to get back so she won't be late for her appointment. She still got lost. LOL
You can see more pictures of this hike on this meetup event page.
